Support SKOM
Your support can help children aged 5–15 learn, stay healthy, stay safe and grow up within strong families and communities.
Why support children in the Ssese Islands
The Ssese Islands are home to children with the same dreams and gifts as children anywhere. But island life can place quality schools, health services and child protection out of reach.
Where families depend on fishing, some children leave school early or take on work such as net mending, fish processing and night fishing. Limited psychosocial support and safeguarding structures can leave children more vulnerable.
SKOM exists to change that — with learning, care, protection and community working together.
Services are harder and costlier to reach on the islands.
Fishing economies can pull children out of school.
Limited support and safeguarding structures increase risk.
